Sulfur

I made a place for myself
in a geothermal cell
and yet I can’t stand the smell
of sulfur.
Didn’t want to see anybody else
‘cause I just couldn’t stand myself
and I’m sitting on this shelf
with no friends to keep me
odorless. I’m dead.
And now I’m ready to cleanse
and now I’m missing my friends.
And I’m now I’m missing my friends

Streetlamp
03:22
|
|||
I wake up on another day that I’ll mess up everything.
Wrote lists all night of what not to do in the morning
but they fell in the spaces between my bed frame and mattress,
so I awake and get dressed and get into my car.
I try to sleep on another patch of unclean pavement.
I wait for the rain to wash over but it never comes.
I see heaven in the sun poking through the midnight clouds
but it’s just a streetlamp telling me to go home.
I break down the doorways that lead to old friends’ apartments.
I try to scream apologies but they don’t come out.
My eyelids fall and rise just to see that the whole time,
these places have been vacant
and I’m too late now.
I’m too late now.

I'm sorry
It should've been you
I know now
It should've been you
